We were tasked with designing an apartment that offers stunning ocean views as far as the eye can see, with the occasional sea breeze flowing through the rooms. We chose a contemporary design with a touch of modern ethnicity. Open shelves and an open dining area help make the space feel larger and more inviting.
The hall, with its balcony offering an expansive view of the ocean, is kept open to allow free movement and maintain functionality. It features open storage units on both ends and combines the dining area with the Pooja unit.
The dining table combines a built-in bench and chairs. A storage unit is provided on one side along with a serving slab. It’s perfect for easy serving and a great spot for dining with friends.
The foyer stands out with its vibrant yellow Athangudi tiles, adding a pop of color to the rest of the house. The shoe stand and seating area make it both stylish and functional.
The Pooja unit is a simple yet sophisticated design, complemented by wall paneling in the form of toranas that serves as the perfect backdrop for the idols.
